Another great project completed for Schick Civil Construction at Te Awa Lakes – Horotiu!

Stage 1 

• 4,200m² hydro mulched on road verges using Amenity perennial ryegrass, chosen for its quick germination, tidy appearance and strong root system, making it ideal for high visibility berm areas.
• 750m² of steep banks hydro mulched with Hydro 1000/Flexterra® blend with Rye/Clover mix. Flexterra is used on steeper areas because it bonds to the soil surface, holds moisture, and provides superior erosion control during heavy rain while the grass establishes.
• 2,320m² of open lots, hydro mulched with Hydro 1000/Rye Clover mix that required fast coverage.
• Finished Stage 1 applying 10,000m² of Dust RX hydro for dust suppression over the holiday break and temporary ground stabilisation during construction.

Stage 2

• 650m² more of road berms hydro mulched with Amenity rye for consistent establishment.
• 1,500m² of steep batters hydro mulched with Hydro 1000/Flexterra blend with Rye/Clover, providing added erosion protection and improved moisture retention on exposed slopes.
  Selecting the right seed blends and erosion control products for each area ensures strong establishment, reduced washout, and long-term stability.
