Fine fescue seed lawns are very ornamental, so they are perfect for lawns that will not have much traffic from children and pets. People like this lawn type as the chemical Haloxyfop can be used to selectively remove foreign grasses from the fine fescue. It is a very slow-growing lawn and due to it being slow to germinate, it will always have a lot of weed competition. During establishment, fine fescue seeds can only be grown in autumn and spring. Fine Fescue lawns suffer in the summer conditions from heat, moisture and insects. Requires more lawn care maintenance to establish.
